Description

That bleach isn’t good for you.

Okay, so here’s my very late birthday present for =CelestialDragonsoul who turned 14 a couple days ago. c’: Go give her all your love, because she’s an amazing person and artist.

This took an incredibly large amount of work and is usually why I don’t do painterly shading, but you were work the effort, Syph. ♥ I actually had a lot of un doing this. I love white characters. ;3;

I haven’t done this style since that Lyr picture: [link]
I really like it, I just don’t tackle it very often because it requires so much work. xD

Anyways, I hope you like it, Syph and that you had an awesome birthday. ♥ -goes back to sleep and recover from mono-

Critique is very much welcomed!

This is a cool creature design, and I quite like the dynamic posture. Sleek, elegant, mysterious and beautiful lighting, as well as great use of colour for the shadows.

It looks mystical and almost holy in its hands clapsed over the ball/cage.

However, the lighting makes it a little difficult to see the markings on dragon, which is a big part of the design.
Also, the original seemed more ferocious, but I suppose this is your style and interpretation of it.

I feel the whiskers are a little comically overdone and in the way, although I know it is part of the design and you already left out one of the shorter whiskers. Perhaps if the whiskers went back like a cobra hood, it'd be less of a distraction.

The neck also looks to be stretched a little awkwardly now (but it may be just because I've been staring at it for too long).

I quite enjoy soft fluffiness and long tendrils for that flowy feel, which I feel you could have accentuated more on, as that was also part of the original design in the mane and tail. Also, the scales in the tail could have been more defined and sharper in reference to the design.

I don't really understand the connection with the title, I'll assume it's some kind of inside joke or reference to the whiskers <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>

All in all, this was an effective interpretation of this creature, in a soft, unique style which evokes awe and mystery.
